Rez Moss

I’m Rez Moss, founder and CEO of CloudAid. I’ve spent more than 20 years building and scaling software, as a developer, then an architect, a team lead and a founder.

Right now I lead VM scanning at Aikido Security, building the product that scans virtual machines across AWS, Azure and other clouds.

I wrote Go at Scale: Patterns for Professional Development, a 528-page book on production Go: function design, concurrency, and microservice patterns.

Before CloudAid, I launched PBXDom, a real-time call analytics product. At PBXDom I ran product, engineering and the business side at once. I still build systems and companies the way I learned there.

Motivation

I like building software that changes how a business runs or saves someone an hour of their day. I care about systems that hold up under load and code the next engineer can maintain. I also want the teams I lead to get better at their craft while we ship.

Focus

• Cloud and system architecture: cloud-native systems on AWS with Go, Node.js and modern DevOps
• Product and platform development: from first MVP to enterprise platform
• Leadership and mentorship: I guide dev teams, shape team culture and help engineers grow
• Learning: serverless, container orchestration, and where cloud meets IoT

Outside work

I travel as often as I can and explore the local culture wherever I land. Back home, you’ll find me with a craft beer or a smoky scotch.
